The French Revolution: Social Causes

The first estate was made up of clergy of roman catholic church.the second estate was made up of the rich nobles. It held the highest offices in government. The third estate included bourgeoisie,urban lower class,and peasant farmers. It had no power to influence government. July 14 is a french national holiday just like the u.s. with the fourth of july. On july 14 a mob tried to get gun powder from th bastille, a Paris prison. The angry crowd overwhemled the king's soliders, and the bastille fell into control of the citizens. the third estate felt used because they have always been outvoted. then the estates joined and became the natioal assembly.

Scientific Revolution: Scientific Method

To me I think the scientific method is just about exploring the laws of phsycis. Like experimenting with gravity. Like Issac Newton, he proved Aristotle wrong. Newton argued that there was a universal law of gravitation that applied equally to earth and the heavens.

Copernicus and the trial of Galileo

Galileo theory came out first. And the holy office did not apporve of his theory. they believe in the scriptures of the bible. But Galileo says that earth does not sit in the center of the universe. But the holy office sentenced Galileo to house arrest.

Nicolaus Copernicus theory was that the earth was the center point of the revolution of the heavens. nicolaus was a mystical philosopher. He believed that the sun not only symbolized but also contained God

Evolution vs Creation

In Darwin's theory he is talking about how man came from animals and how bananas and fishes and birds are all related.So his theory is that all living and non living things are related. And others like the Christians believed in the creation, which they dont believe in evolution as we evolved from other things but that god has created us and all living things
