Film Lesson: "Mountains of the Moon"

Some of the hardships the Europeans had to face as they explored Africa was, the other tribes ambushing them. Some tribes actually kidnapped one of the explorers and stab him in his legs and arms jus tso he wont get away. They also check your mouth to see if you had gold fillings they would yank your teeth out because the gold was valuable. And getting there items stolen by some of the Africans who wished to not work anymore. They took tea sets silverware and a gun or two. Also the bugs was a problem.

The advantage the Europeans had over the Africans was that the Europeans had guns. and vehicles. And they was able to conquer Africa easily for the fact that they have been there already and know its surroundings and they'er weapons was more powerful then the Africans.

Karl Marx and Communism

Marx's ideas were known as Communism, a word formed for common. Workers would share wealth in a communist society.Also Marx argued that workers, rather than landlords, should control factories and farms.

Causes of WWI

One of the reasons was militarism. And nationalism, settlement of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the principle of nationalism was ignored in favor of preserving the peace. Germany and Italy was left as 2 different states. This was the 1st war where they used machine guns. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914.

The Meiji Restoration of Japan

Japan thought they was the most dominant out of all races. They never let anyone into their country. The Chinese banned Christianity.

The Opium Wars

The opium war was about English selling a drug called opium to the Chinese people.The people was getting addicted to this drug.And by the time the war came the people was so drugged up to were they couldn't fight so the English won.
