Some of the hardships the Europeans had to face as they explored Africa was, the other tribes ambushing them. Some tribes actually kidnapped one of the explorers and stab him in his legs and arms jus tso he wont get away. They also check your mouth to see if you had gold fillings they would yank your teeth out because the gold was valuable. And getting there items stolen by some of the Africans who wished to not work anymore. They took tea sets silverware and a gun or two. Also the bugs was a problem.

The advantage the Europeans had over the Africans was that the Europeans had guns. and vehicles. And they was able to conquer Africa easily for the fact that they have been there already and know its surroundings and they'er weapons was more powerful then the Africans.

Marx's ideas were known as Communism, a word formed for common. Workers would share wealth in a communist society.Also Marx argued that workers, rather than landlords, should control factories and farms.

One of the reasons was militarism. And nationalism, settlement of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the principle of nationalism was ignored in favor of preserving the peace. Germany and Italy was left as 2 different states. This was the 1st war where they used machine guns. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914.

The main Europeans nations involved in the scramble was Germany,Spain,Portugal,etc. They was in Africa for trade and for slavery.They had weapons such as machine guns,pistols. The Africans had spears.So there was no chance of them winning. This effected the Africans by taking there freedom away.They have been sold like product. On a large ship going here and there getting there names changed. They have been working for free cleaning.Some was raped by there owners. To me the term scramble for Africa means all the Europeans getting together and scrambling around Africa and ambushing them

The French Revolution: Social Causes

The first estate was made up of clergy of roman catholic church.the second estate was made up of the rich nobles. It held the highest offices in government. The third estate included bourgeoisie,urban lower class,and peasant farmers. It had no power to influence government. July 14 is a french national holiday just like the u.s. with the fourth of july. On july 14 a mob tried to get gun powder from th bastille, a Paris prison. The angry crowd overwhemled the king's soliders, and the bastille fell into control of the citizens. the third estate felt used because they have always been outvoted. then the estates joined and became the natioal assembly.

Scientific Revolution: Scientific Method

To me I think the scientific method is just about exploring the laws of phsycis. Like experimenting with gravity. Like Issac Newton, he proved Aristotle wrong. Newton argued that there was a universal law of gravitation that applied equally to earth and the heavens.

Copernicus and the trial of Galileo

Galileo theory came out first. And the holy office did not apporve of his theory. they believe in the scriptures of the bible. But Galileo says that earth does not sit in the center of the universe. But the holy office sentenced Galileo to house arrest.

Nicolaus Copernicus theory was that the earth was the center point of the revolution of the heavens. nicolaus was a mystical philosopher. He believed that the sun not only symbolized but also contained God

Evolution vs Creation

In Darwin's theory he is talking about how man came from animals and how bananas and fishes and birds are all related.So his theory is that all living and non living things are related. And others like the Christians believed in the creation, which they dont believe in evolution as we evolved from other things but that god has created us and all living things
